Job summary

SMBC Group in White Plains, NY is seeking an Analyst to join the Foreign Exchange operations within the Treasury. You will confirm and settle FX trades and support the CSA Margin Control for the global portfolio.

The role requires familiarity with FX confirmations, margin calls, and back-office systems (FOX, Montran, SAA). You will report to the Director and help meet daily deadlines in a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• 2 to 5 years of specialized experience in Financial Services
• Experience working in a back office operations team in a bank or financial institution
• Operational knowledge of back-office applications (FOX, CFO/CLS, Montran, Comfort, SAA)
• Knowledge of FX dealing, confirmation and settlement processes
• Knowledge of payments structure through SWIFT, CHIPS, Fedwire and CLS
• Ability to interact cross-departmentally to resolve issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Confirms and processes corporate trades; prepares payments.
• Verifies payments in Montran and SAA; rectifies errors.
• Confirms NDF, Currency Options, Arbitrage trades, and Collateral Payments.
• Monitors control procedures in CLS, non CLS and Misys matching systems.
• Investigates and resolves failed, unmatched and mismatched trades.
• Updates credit line renewal: reconciles broker fees to ensure fees are accurate.
• Generates reports in compliance with Dodd-Frank EUC requirements.
• Processes daily Variation and Initial Margin calls, and supports reporting to Head Office Tokyo.
• Calculates funding requirements and assists in money transfers to Head Office Tokyo and other Branches' nostro accounts.
