Job summary

Applegreen, a leading roadside retailer, is seeking a Category Manager to drive category strategies, optimize product assortments, pricing, and promotions across our retail portfolio. You will partner with Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain to deliver strong commercial results.

The role requires 5+ years in retail buying or category management, with proven vendor negotiation skills and advanced Excel proficiency. A hybrid NJ-based position offers growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of retail buying, category management, merchandising, or procurement experience.
Strong experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing vendor relationships.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales growth and margins.
Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising plans.
Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Lead annual vendor negotiations and manage supplier relationships.
Develop planograms and promotional calendars with cross-functional teams.
Mentor junior members of the Commercial team and provide leadership.
