Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Research Project Manager in Sidney, OH to lead R&D initiatives from concept to validation. You will coordinate compressor and rotating equipment projects, collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and procurement, and report progress to senior leadership.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10+ years in PM for high-performance systems, strong communication, and experience shaping project scopes and schedules. Hybrid work in Sidney with travel up to 5% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5–10+ years of progressive experience in project management within R&D, engineering, or product development for compressors, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, or similar high-performance systems.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed rotating equipment, design tools, testing methodologies, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Define overall project scope with established, clear goals and timelines.
• Engage with business units to identify research opportunities from roadmaps and needs.
• Facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams to transition projects from R&D to development.
• Provide clear, impactful status reporting to leadership on progress, risks and outcomes.
• Travel ~5% as needed and mentor team on project management best practices.
