Job summary

The University of North Carolina System is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support timely and accurate payroll processing using the Ellucian Banner HR/Payroll system. You will validate payroll data, administer deductions, reconcile transactions, and ensure regulatory compliance while handling sensitive information with confidentiality.

Hybrid or remote work arrangements may be available, with UNC System employees generally residing in North Carolina within commuting distance of the duty station.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency and one year of accounting experience or equivalent.
• Experience with payroll processes and understanding of payroll regulations is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Validate monthly and bi-weekly payroll data.
