Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks a degreed mechanical engineer to join our Facilities-MEP Practice. From concept through construction, you’ll collaborate with senior engineers on diverse educational, public works, water, transportation, and aviation projects, applying strong problem‑solving and design skills.

You will design mechanical and plumbing systems, perform energy modeling, and supervise junior staff to ensure quality. Hybrid-remote options are available.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• PE license required.
• 6+ years of professional design experience.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for varied sizes.
• Project management experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design calculations and assessments.
• Conduct HVAC load studies and energy modeling.
• Produce drawings and specifications for bidding and construction.
• Oversee junior staff and perform QA/QC on documents.
• Coordinate with clients and code officials for compliance.
• Serve as project manager on small to medium projects.
