Job summary
Quest Diagnostics Inc. seeks an Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) to install, optimize, and manage the Epic IRIS ODBA in Azure, supporting high-volume national lab operations.
The role combines on-site work three days/week at Schaumburg, IL (or Secaucus, NJ) with the option for remote arrangements if criteria are met. Candidates must hold an active Epic ODBA certification, bring 7+ years of InterSystems Caché/IRIS DBA experience, and be proficient in Azure, Linux, automation, and
Qualifications
- Active Epic ODBA certification required across multiple Epic releases.
- 7+ years of hands-on DB admin experience with InterSystems Caché/IRIS in enterprise environments.
- Experience managing high-volume, mission-critical Epic workloads in Azure.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and provision Epic DB environments in Azure.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers to deploy infrastructure (Terraform).
- Perform volume testing for HL7v2 and FHIR transactions.
- Design disaster recovery, failover, and backup protocols.
- Monitor DB health, performance, and capacity.
- Manage upgrades, patches, and change control.
- Support on-call rotation for incidents.
- Tune memory, caching, and background processes for performance.
