Quest Diagnostics Incorporated seeks an Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) to ensure the installation, performance, and reliability of the Epic IRIS ODB hosted in Microsoft Azure. The role supports a high-volume national diagnostic lab environment and requires coordination with Epic Beaker analysts and infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in InterSystems Cache/IRIS DB, Azure experience, and strong DR/HA capabilities, with on-call responsibilities and strict

Qualifications

• Epic ODBA certification is required with proven track record across Epic releases.
• 7+ years of hands-on InterSystems Cache/IRIS DB admin in enterprise environments.
• 4+ years hosting Epic workloads in Microsoft Azure with focus on Azure storage and VM clustering.
• Experience with multi-region HA and disaster recovery for large databases.
• Unix/Linux admin skills (RH) and automation scripting.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and provision Epic database environments in Azure (Production, Reporting, Training, Build).
• Infrastructure as Code: work with Terraform for consistent, scalable deployments.
• Ensure high-throughput HL7v2 and FHIR API traffic handling.
• Implement multi-region DR, failover clusters, and backups with zero downtime.
• Monitor database health, I/O, and journaling; optimize performance.
• Coordinate Epic TS and InterSystems maintenance windows.
• Execute routine upgrades and security patches per change control.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for critical incidents.
