Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in the state of practice.
• Minimum 5 years of civil rights litigation experience with a strong outcomes record.
• Extensive mediation experience and excellent negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws, court procedures, and rules of evidence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex legal concepts clearly.
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
• Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Passion for civil rights and a commitment to advancing justice and equality.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal defense representation to clients alleging civil rights violations.
• Conduct defense research and analysis to support case development and litigation strategy.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and appeals.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in mediation and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Advocate for clients in court proceedings with persuasive arguments and evidence.
• Stay updated on developments in civil rights law and apply this knowledge to cases.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient handling of cases.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, helping them understand rights and options.
• Participate in community outreach and education on civil rights issues and the firm’s services.
