The Department of Information Technology is seeking an Accounting Manager I (NS) in Raleigh, NC. This role leads AR and cash management, ensuring accuracy for the ACFR and related reports, with emphasis on GASB/GAAP compliance and internal controls.

Qualified candidates will have a accounting degree, five years of experience, supervisory background, and familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting. Hybrid remote work with on-site weekly presence is available under state policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field, from an accredited institution with 18 accounting coursework hours.
• Five years of professional accounting experience in preparation and review of financial statements and reports; at least one in supervision.
• May require certification as a Public Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Advise on AR and cash management matters and support policy updates.
• Oversee all departmental accounts receivable and cash management operations.
• Analyze and improve AR and cash processes in coordination with leadership.
• Ensure compliance with State guidance, GASB standards, GAAP, and internal policies.
• Manage daily reconciliations, cash availability, transactions, deposits, disbursements, and NCFS journals.
• Prepare quarterly AR reports, monthly bank reconciliations, and other financial reports.
• Lead collection activities and coordinate DOR Debt Setoff.
