Job summary

Bailard, Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Real Estate Associate to join the Real Estate team. The role focuses on property-level analysis, underwriting new investments, and supporting acquisitions and asset management across property types and geographies.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of CRE experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Real Estate, and strong Argus and Excel skills for DCF and waterfall modeling, with a willingness to travel nationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field.
• 3-5 years of work experience in commercial real estate.
• Strong proficiency in Argus and Excel with experience in discounted cash flow modeling and waterfall structures.

Responsibilities

• Conducting financial analysis for potential acquisitions, including creating and modifying Argus and Excel models, discounted cash flows, and partnership waterfalls.
• Coordinate due diligence with legal counsel, third-party consultants, investment brokers, and lenders.
• Compile market research necessary for acquisition assumptions, including lease and sales comparables, competitive sets, development pipeline, and other market data as needed.
• Support and lead ongoing asset management initiatives including new lease negotiations, execution of capital plans, property financings, development asset draw schedules, and hold/sell analysis for exit scenarios.
• Interface with third-party stakeholders including leasing brokers, property managers, and joint venture partners to create and enact asset-level business plans.
• Manage quarterly valuations of existing assets via third-party appraisals.
• Prepare internal investment memos for acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and refinancing.
• Provide oversight and support for junior team members.
• Additional duties as required by the Real Estate team.
