Job summary

Benesch's Railroad Division seeks a Civil/Track Designer II to join the Rail Services team. Hybrid schedule with locations including Charlotte, NC, and other cities open for team-based rail projects.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to develop track and civil design plans, specs, and cost estimates for Class I, short line, and commuter rail projects. Prior experience with rail projects is preferred, MicroStation InRoads/Open Roads experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience or training in rail design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Acquiring practical experience collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers and Technicians on rail projects.
• Contributing to the creation of track and civil design plans, specifications and cost estimates.

Railroad Civil/Track Designer II

Be part of our dynamic Civil/Track Design team within Benesch's thriving Railroad Services group. As a Civil/Track team member, you will acquire practical experience collaborating with Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians to deliver services for Class I, short line, and commuter rail projects. Your responsibilities will involve contributing to the creation of track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on projects for freight and commuter railroads and rail agencies, with additional training in MicroStation InRoads/Open Roads considered a significant advantage.

Location

The position provides a Hybrid schedule and is open to candidates in the following locations where there is a specialized Railroad-Track team actively involved in Railroad-Track business development: Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; Naperville, IL; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC.
