Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Integrated HPC & Quantum Solutions team in Milpitas, CA. The role is hybrid, requiring about 2 days per week in the office.

You will advance quantum computing by integrating with HPC, building efficient software for circuit compilation, execution, and simulation. You will lead development across a multidisciplinary team, contribute to open standards, and deliver measurable results.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of programming experience.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++/Rust and Python.
• Experience with quantum computing tools (Qiskit, CUDA-Q, TensorFlow Quantum, Pennylane).
• Experience contributing to large software projects and library API design.
• Knowledge of HPC architectures, GPUs, scheduling, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for quantum computing applications and HPC-QC system management including scheduling and workflows.
• Create adapters connecting quantum software tools with other tools using open standards.
• Develop tests, maintain code quality, and assist with reviews.
• Prototype software to support research and extend open source components.
• Develop demonstrations, documentation, and parts of research papers.
