Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise's Quantum team at HPE Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance quantum circuit compilation, execution, and simulation within HPC-QC ecosystems. You will develop software that links quantum computing tools with HPC platforms and collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product managers to deliver usable, high-performance systems.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
6 or more years of programming experience.
Advanced programming skills in C, C++, or Rust, and Python.
Experience contributing to large software projects and API design.
Experience with quantum computing tools (e.g., Qiskit, CUDA-Q, TensorFlow Quantum, Pennylane).
Strong understanding of quantum computing and circuit optimization.
Deep understanding of HPC architecture, GPUs/CPUs, cluster design, job scheduling, workload optimization, and performance tuning.
Strong mathematical background in statistics, probability, and linear algebra.

Responsibilities

Develop software for quantum computing applications and HPC-QC system management.
Create adapters connecting quantum tools with other tools using open standards.
Develop tests, support automated testing and CI, assist code reviews.
Implement prototypes to support research and extend open source software.
Build mock-up and test-bed systems to demonstrate HPC-QC capabilities.
Prepare demonstrations, write technical docs, and contribute to research papers.
Contribute to open specifications and standards for interoperability in quantum computing.
