Job summary
Hewlett Packard Enterprise's HPE Labs in California seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance integrated HPC and quantum solutions. This hybrid role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to transition quantum computing from research to practical applications.
You will develop software for quantum circuit compilation, execution, and simulation, work on open standards, and contribute to open-source projects.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of programming experience
- Advanced programming skills in C, C++, Rust and Python
- Experience with large software projects and library API design
- Experience with quantum computing tools (Qiskit, CUDA-Q, TensorFlow Quantum, Pennylane)
Responsibilities
- Develop software that supports quantum computing applications and HPC-QC system management (job management, scheduling, compilation, workflows)
- Create adapters connecting quantum software tools with other tools using open standards
- Develop tests and support CI, assist with code reviews
- Improve prototypes to support research, extend open source software
- Create mock-ups and test beds to demonstrate HPC-QC capabilities
- Prepare demonstrations, write technical docs, contribute to research papers
- Contribute to open specifications and standards for interoperability in quantum computing
