Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Quantum team at HPE Labs is developing quantum computing approaches integrated with HPC. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will advance circuit compilation, execution, resource estimation, and simulation, blending quantum computing with high-performance computing.

You will work with engineers, researchers, and product managers to build efficient systems and demonstrate capabilities. Strong HPC, quantum knowledge, and programming skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of programming experience.
• Advanced programming in C, C++, Rust and Python.
• Experience with large software projects and library API design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and demonstrate software that supports quantum computing applications and HPC-QC system management via job management, scheduling, compilation, and workflow frameworks.
• Create adapters connecting quantum software tools with other tools using open standards; evaluate open-source and commercial software for HPC-QC environments.
• Develop functional and unit tests; support automated testing and CI; assist with code reviews.
• Extend open source software; implement prototypes to support research efforts.
• Create mock-up/test bed systems to demonstrate HPC-QC capabilities.
• Prepare demonstrations, write technical docs, and contribute to research papers on software development for HPC-QC.
• Contribute to open specifications and standards for interoperability in quantum computing.
