Job summary

Public Health Solutions, Inc. is hiring a Data Privacy Analyst to ensure confidentiality, security, and compliance of sensitive data within the Center for Population Health Data Science.

The role will guide risk management, governance, and privacy-by-design across data systems and processes at DOHMH. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to implement privacy controls, de-identification, and AI governance, ensuring alignment with HIPAA and NIST frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Data Science, Informatics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in data privacy, data governance, or data risk management.
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws and regulations and experience translating them into operational or technical guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local data privacy laws and regulations, translating them into guidance for stakeholders.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and data risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
• Assist programs with data risk management, governance strategies, and compliance monitoring.
• Develop and implement policies for data privacy, security, retention, and destruction.
• Guide privacy-by-design adoption in collaboration with data engineers and architects, aligning with governance frameworks.
