The role supports governance standards, privacy-by-design, and cross-functional collaboration within a grant-funded program.

The position emphasizes regulatory compliance (city, state, and federal) and risk management to advance public health initiatives while enabling secure data use.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• At least 3 years of privacy, governance, or data risk management experience.
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws and translating them into operational or technical guidance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local data privacy laws and translate them into actionable guidance for stakeholders.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and data risk assessments to identify and mitigate risk.
• Assist programs with data risk management, governance strategies, asset classification, and compliance monitoring.
• Develop and implement policies for data privacy, security, retention, and destruction.
• Guide privacy-by-design adoption with data engineers and architects, aligning with frameworks and standards.
• Collaborate with data stewards and program managers to implement privacy-preserving techniques for data sharing.
• Contribute to AI governance policy development and assessment of AI tools.
