Job summary

The CDC Foundation is seeking a dependable and collaborative Business Analyst to support the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Division of Data Strategy and Transformation (DST), within the Office of Health Data, Strategy, and Innovation (OHDSI). This role helps advance data modernization using the Enterprise Data Platform and coordinates with diverse teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
4+ years of professional experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, or data management.
Experience documenting and validating business and functional requirements.
Knowledge of BI tooling, dashboards, and data governance.

Responsibilities

Conduct business discovery to understand public health data workflows and functional needs across DPH programs.
Document current-state processes, data flows, business rules, and requirements, translating needs into technical specifications.
Support onboarding of data sources to the Enterprise Data Platform by defining scope and coordinating with technical teams.
Collaborate with epidemiologists, program managers, data stewards, architects, engineers, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate stakeholder interviews and workshops and develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and user stories.
Support the design and implementation of enterprise data products and modernization initiatives, including dashboards and reports.
Assist in solution design by evaluating options and validating delivered solutions meet stakeholder needs.
Develop standards and templates for business analysis and data onboarding.
Foster effective communication across DPH program areas and technical partners.
Represent DST in cross-departmental meetings and stay current with data management practices.
Complete all required departmental training.
