Job summary

Purchasing Power is seeking a Manager, Accounting to lead day-to-day close operations and build a high-performing accounting team for a public company environment. You will own the general ledger close, oversee Senior and Staff Accountants, ensure SOX 404 compliance, and drive AI-enabled process transformations.

You will mentor staff, review variances, support SEC filings, and partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's or MBA a plus.
• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5+ years in a publicly traded environment.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience.
• 3+ years of SOX 404 compliance experience, including ICFR design and external auditor management.
• Experience supporting SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q).
• Large ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Workday).
• Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with close management platforms a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close under US GAAP, inclusive of close calendar, journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidation.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff through onboarding, training, and goal-setting.
• Review flux/variance analyses and contribute to Controller materials.
• Support preparation of SEC filings and related schedules.
• Ensure SOX 404 compliance and collaborate with IA to update key controls.
• Drive improvements in close, consolidation, and reporting processes.
• Champion AI-powered accounting tools and automation initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into accounting policy improvements with cross-functional teams.
