Job summary

Purchasing Power, a Progressive Leasing subsidiary, is seeking a Manager, Accounting to lead day-to-day close operations and develop the accounting team as we grow as a public company. Reporting to the Controller, this role owns the general ledger close, oversees Senior and Staff Accountants, drives SOX compliance, and champions AI-enabled process transformation.

You will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes under US GAAP, mentor staff, review variances, support SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q),

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a public company environment.
• 3+ years of direct people management and leadership of accounting staff.
• 3+ years of SOX 404 experience, ICFR design and external auditor coordination.
• Experience supporting SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and tight filing deadlines.
• ERP experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar; Workday preferred.
• Advanced Excel; familiarity with close-management tools (BlackLine, FloQast) a plus.
• High integrity with MNPI handling and strong ethics.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close under US GAAP.
• Directly manage accounting staff with onboarding, training, and coaching.
• Review flux/variance analyses and contribute to Controller materials.
• Support SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and key footnotes scheduling.
• Ensure SOX 404 controls, ICFR design, and updates with internal audit.
• Drive process improvements with AI-enabled accounting and automation tools.
