Job summary

King County's Solid Waste Division is seeking a Capital Project Manager II to lead major CIP efforts, including Cedar Hills Regional Landfill and related asset management programs. The role sits in the PMO, guiding projects through scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver sustainable regional infrastructure.

You will collaborate with a team of PMs on large, complex projects, with opportunities for leadership on smaller CIPs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, construction management, engineering, business administration or a closely related field.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and produce high-quality deliverables on time.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor costs and schedules across project lifecycle and manage deviations.
  • Coordinate with managers, engineers, consultants, and stakeholders; document assumptions and decisions.
  • Develop procurement plans, contracts, and closeout documents; manage consultants and contractors per policy.
  • Lead development of project plans, baselines, scope changes, and quality/performance reporting.
  • Organize and manage project work and resources; monitor scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
  • Support senior PMs in preparing technical information for teams and officials.
  • Ensure alignment with construction, operations, and engineering teams for seamless delivery.
