Job summary

City of Shoreline seeks an Engineer II to manage and support capital projects from planning through design and construction close-out, with emphasis on surface water and wastewater initiatives. You will coordinate with divisions, consult with agencies, and lead public involvement to ensure timely delivery within budget.

The role requires five years in capital project delivery, a PE license or eligibility, and ability to work collaboratively in inter-divisional teams, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Five years managing and/or designing capital projects with at least three years as project manager.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, architecture, construction management or related field.
• WA Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within one year of hire; PMP certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee development of capital projects including streets, facilities, parks, surface water and wastewater; meet schedule and budget objectives.
• Administer contracts with outside consultants; advertise, interview and select consultants; negotiate work programs for subsequent contracts.
• Oversee consultants, monitor budget, contract expenses, schedules and performance.
• Prepare engineering designs and estimates; develop long-range plans for infrastructure; project cost forecasts.
