Job summary

Ameritas is seeking a project manager to lead and organize project teams, leveraging structured thinking, quantitative and analytical skills to deliver value with minimal supervision.

The role involves hybrid work from the office (Lincoln, NE or Cincinnati, OH) and remote work, requiring strong communication and change-management capabilities and a focus on consistent delivery and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 1–3+ years of related project management experience.
• PMP, PMI-ACP or similar certifications are useful.
• MBA or similar advanced degree desired.

Responsibilities

• Support sponsor engagement and document project objectives, benefits, success criteria, assumptions, constraints, and project steering team membership.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to identify project approaches, break down project work into tasks, obtain estimates for those tasks, and identify task dependencies to create the project plan and schedule.
• Track project costs and supporting budget monitoring.
• Monitor and update project plans, schedules, costs, and resources and reports on progress and variances to plan.
• Ensure stakeholders understand changes to business processes and appropriate training is provided.
• Follow review/approval processes for project deliverables while tracking and managing project risks and issues.
• Evaluate and document the degree to which changes would affect the project scope, cost, quality, and schedule and provide alternatives to project steering team and sponsors for approval.
• Implement approved changes, manage related work tasks, and integrate approved changes into project baselines.
• Identify causes of variances in project scope, schedules, costs, etc. Document lessons learned that allow for improvements in future delivery.
