Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Project Engineer to support acquisition engineering, drawing development and CM for SSDS hardware enclosures. This hybrid role requires hands-on analysis, technical reviews, and active participation in government data packages and changes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in SSDS/shipboard systems, a BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, and an active DoD Secret clearance. Travel is <10%. Expect tasks in testing, material management, and ECP integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with SSDS, Navy, and/or shipboard systems.
• BS degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Project and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide acquisition recommendations based on independent analyses.
• Perform drawing development tasks and technical reviews.
• Perform configuration management duties for TDPs.
• Perform quality checks on governments TDPs and drawings.
• Update drawings per government redlines for final release.
• Aid with assembling hardware kits for ECPs into SSDS enclosures.
• Oversee SSDS production work and monitor progression.
• Perform Material Management duties on all materials.
• Perform equipment and systems functional testing in a lab environment.
