Job summary

Association for Energy Affordability, Inc. (AEA West) is seeking a Project Associate in the Clean Energy, Solar and Electrification area.

This hybrid role involves energy audits, modeling, and coordinating retrofit projects for multifamily buildings in the greater California region, with field travel within the Central Coast and to Los Angeles area as needed. The ideal candidate has a technical degree and 2+ years in energy conservation or related work, plus experience with energy modeling tools

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a technical degree or equivalent energy field experience.
• Two years of prior experience in a related role will be required.
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills are essential.
• Two position levels exist: Associate I and II depending on experience.
• Desirable: technical writing skills and MS Office proficiency, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct energy audits, field assessments, and building diagnostics.
• Perform energy modeling and building simulations.
• Prepare energy and green building assessment reports with cost and emission analyses.
• Job costing, construction feasibility, and coordinating with contractors.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, and decision makers on energy upgrades.
• Visit construction sites and support LEED, HERS, and related certifications.
• Provide training on energy efficiency technologies and decarbonized building operations.
