Job summary

Nextpower seeks an Accounting Specialist to join the Project Accounting team in Fremont, CA, reporting to the Manager, Project Accounting. The role supports financial management and accounting activities across projects while partnering with cross-functional teams.

The position is based in Fremont with a hybrid model, onsite four days per week, requiring strong analytical skills and proactive collaboration to meet project and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• 2-5 years of relevant accounting or audit experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Ability to prioritize and deliver accurate work under close deadlines.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, including clear explanations of accounting conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and meet close deadlines.
• Own balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Analyze account fluctuations and explain variances.
• Maintain accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany activity.
• Prepare financial reports and disclosures; apply US GAAP and policy guidance.
• Support ASC 606 revenue recognition for projects and related close processes.
• Coordinate audits and identify process improvements.
