Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Accounting Associate to join our team at a Baltimore project site. This role supports the project management team, handles job cost accounting, subcontractor AP, client invoicing, and budgeting.

Based in Maryland, this full-time position is four days on site with one hybrid day. We offer a competitive salary range, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits including health care, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 2–5 years construction or project-related accounting desired.
• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work independently.
• Ability to multi task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented, organized, and disciplined with strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; JD Edwards experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on job cost accounting for multiple projects including Subcontractor AP processing, client invoicing, and budgeting.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of all costs related to each project.
• Collaborate with Project Management to provide direction and support as needed.
• Ensure Project Accounting policies are communicated and enforced.
• Communicate accounting issues clearly and resolve problems promptly.
• Monitor project risk and elevate issues when necessary.
