Job summary

VHB is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Finance team in Richmond, Virginia. You will support client billing and project financial administration across a diverse portfolio of transportation, land development, and infrastructure projects throughout Virginia and DC.

The role requires close collaboration with Project Managers and Finance, with a focus on accurate invoicing, contract compliance, and timely AR activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in project billing and financial administration.
• Experience preparing client invoices and reviewing contract billing requirements.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel for complex calculations.
• Experience with ERP/project accounting or invoicing systems.
• Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint is strongly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process monthly client invoices in line with contracts and terms.
• Support 15-20 Project Managers with project billing and financial administration.
• Maintain accurate project financial records and billing documentation in the ERP system.
• Assist with project setup, including contract compensation structures, budgets, and codes.
• Review contracts for invoicing compliance and formatting requirements.
• Coordinate billing for diverse project types, including DOT and public infra.
