Job summary

VHB is seeking a Project Accountant in Richmond, VA to join our Finance team. You will support client billing and project financial administration for transportation, land development, and infrastructure projects across Virginia and DC.

Collaborating with Project Managers and Finance staff, you will ensure accurate invoicing, maintain project financial records in the ERP, and assist with accounts receivable.

Qualifications

• 0-4+ years of related accounting, project billing, or finance experience.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
• Experience with ERP, project accounting, or invoicing systems; Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process monthly client invoices in accordance with contracts.
• Support 15-20 Project Managers with billing and financial administration.
• Maintain accurate project financial records in the ERP system.
• Review contracts to ensure invoicing compliance with terms.
• Coordinate billing for multiple project types including DOT clients.
• Assist AR/AP activities and aging reports.
