Job summary

Housing Resources Inc. (HRI) seeks an experienced Program Director to oversee multiple housing programs, ensuring quality, compliance, and measurable outcomes.

You will lead Program Managers, collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic planning, and guide grant development, budgeting, and reporting. A strong nonprofit background in housing or social services is essential, with a commitment to equity and community service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• Five years of program leadership in nonprofit housing or social services.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate staff and manage organizational change.
• Experience in grants management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Knowledge of affordable housing, HUD requirements preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance accountability for Program Managers and their teams.
• Assist in short and long‑range planning and work plan creation to meet goals.
• Identify, research and apply for grants and new funding opportunities; track donors and complete reports.
• Oversee grant compliance, deliverables, monitoring, renewals, and funder reports.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and staff development.
• Monitor housing and homeownership trends to inform program development.
• Develop and maintain program procedures, quality standards, and evaluation practices.
• Lead development and management of organizational programs aligned with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with partners to identify needs and develop new programs.
