Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Program Assistant to support food distribution and community outreach in Southern Maryland. You will assist with SMFB orders, manage Snack Sack operations, and help maintain partnerships that enhance outreach programs.

The role involves transporting food, coordinating volunteers, and preparing monthly reports for stakeholders. A High School diploma and 2 years of community work are required, with certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of community/non-profit experience preferred.
• Must obtain a Food Safety/Serve Safe certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage SMFB orders for pantry, Senior, Snack Sacks, and Meals of Hope truck.
• Coordinate with schools for Snack Sack Program and annual student survey.
• Coordinate weekly volunteers to assemble Snack Sacks.
• Prepare monthly reports for SMFB, Catholic Charities, and stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with partners and harvest produce for distribution.
• Assist in receiving, weighing, inspecting, and transporting food deliveries.
