Job summary

Maryland Hunger Solutions (MDHS), an initiative of the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC), seeks a motivated Anti-Hunger Program Associate to increase participation in Maryland's public nutrition programs and address community food security issues.

The role involves outreach, technical assistance, public education, coalition-building, data reporting, and working with diverse partners, with travel across Maryland and occasional in-person responsibilities though remote work is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience.
• Background in hunger/anti-poverty work preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel for local meetings and outreach.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and provide SNAP application assistance and pre-screening support.
• Provide training to partner organizations and public agencies.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase participation in public nutrition programs.
• Provide technical assistance to stakeholders across Maryland.
• Attend community events to engage residents and service providers about SNAP.
• Assist in research, policy improvement, and outreach on SNAP.
• Collect and report data on Maryland participation rates and analyze trends.
• Build coalitions and maintain relationships with community and government partners.
