Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Southern Maryland Food Bank programs, manage orders, and assist with volunteer-led service delivery.

You will transport food using a 26-foot truck, help build community partnerships, and prepare monthly reports for SMFB, Catholic Charities, and stakeholders while adhering to safety standards on a hybrid Maryland schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of community or nonprofit program experience.
• Ability to obtain Food Safety/Serve Safe certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Create and enter SMFB orders for pantry, Senior, Snack Sacks, and Meals of Hope.
• Coordinate with schools in School-based Snack Sack Program; annual student survey.
• Coordinate weekly volunteers to assemble Snack Sacks.
• Prepare monthly reports for SMFB, Catholic Charities, and stakeholders.
• Drive a 26-foot truck to deliver, pick up and serve food in the community.
• Assist Outreach Coordinator with outreach, volunteer training, and order processing.
