Job summary

Brooks Automation seeks a Product Safety Engineer II in Chelmsford, MA to join our semiconductor solutions team. You will develop and monitor safety programs for vacuum and robot-based equipment, ensuring compliance across the product lifecycle.

You will perform safety evaluations, create test plans, and work with engineering to mitigate hazards. Experience with EN/IEC 60204-1, NFPA 79, ISO 12100 and SEMI S2 is preferred, with shift toward international safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience with machine safety standards and guidelines (EN/IEC 60204-1, NFPA 79).
• Experience with ISO 12100 risk assessment methodologies.
• Semiconductor equipment/SEMI S2 experience preferred.
• Exposure to EMC testing and cyber security considerations a plus.
• Associate’s or higher degree in an engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor product safety programs for Brooks semiconductor products.
• Ensure compliance with government and industry health and safety standards across product lifecycle.
• Conduct safety reviews and evaluations for new and existing products.
• Create test plans for new/updated products and perform risk assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate hazards and train others in safety design.
• Evaluate products against ISO 13849-1 and ISO 10218 where applicable.
