Job summary

Voya Financial, Inc. is seeking a motivated credit analyst at Voya Investment Management to monitor a portfolio of private credit investments and assess new opportunities. The analyst will help underwrite transactions, review materials, and present findings to senior staff.

The role emphasizes rigorous credit assessment, financial modeling in Excel, and clear communication with management and counterparties in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
• CFA Designation (or pursuit thereof) or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ corporate credit experience; exposure to private or public bond markets preferred but not essential.
• Excellent credit skills, including ability to assess quality and expected future performance of corporate credits and infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity and experience with loan documents and covenant packages.
• Advanced understanding of Excel and strong modeling capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Solid foundation in accounting standards, and ability to navigate and analyze financial statements.
• Able to engage with transaction counterparties and other stakeholders.
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams; teamwork-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and execute private debt transactions and form a view on credit quality; prepare memoranda and present to senior leadership.
• Monitor credit quality of a portfolio of private credit assets and maintain real-time understanding of performance.
• Collaborate with legal team to evaluate terms and monitor waivers/amendments as needed.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from clients and portfolio management team; adhere to policies.
