Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace’s CNS COE in Deer Valley, AZ seeks a Principal Project Engineer to lead and manage large software engineering programs on a hybrid schedule. You will drive scope, schedules, budgets, and resources with cross‑functional teams worldwide and report to the Director of Project Engineering.

You will mentor engineers, advance project management practices, and coordinate with customers and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant avionics delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or software engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of project experience or technical CM role developing FAA/EASA certified commercial avionics systems in the Aerospace industry.
• Must be a US person for export control work.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop and manage timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and the program manager.
• Define and implement project scope, objectives, and deliverables; prepare schedules and resource forecasting in Microsoft Project.
• Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
• Lead a robust risk management process to identify and mitigate risks and issues impacting delivery.
• Contain scope growth through robust baseline change management.
• Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices.
