Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Senior Technical Project Engineer – Avionics Systems to lead the planning and execution of FAA-certified avionics programs. You will partner with engineering, program management, certification, and customer teams to deliver robust CNS products on schedule and within budget.

You will drive project execution, manage technical and program risks, and coordinate cross-functional teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace systems project engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams through the planning and execution of avionics development programs.
• Define project scope, objectives, schedules, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Develop and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers, program managers, and key stakeholders.
• Support teams in resolving technical and program execution challenges.
• Monitor project performance against schedule, budget, and technical objectives.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to evaluate project health and performance.
• Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution activities.
• Manage project scope and baseline changes throughout the program lifecycle.
• Coordinate activities across engineering, certification, manufacturing, and business functions.
• Lead proposal development, statement of work creation, and cost-estimating activities.
• Provide project status updates to leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
• Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen project execution.
