Job summary

The University of Virginia Office of Summer and Special Academic Programs is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to serve as Precollege Program Coordinator. The role supports the UVA Advance program and will lead staff efforts during Summer Session 3 on Grounds.

The ideal candidate is passionate about educational programming, able to juggle multiple tasks, and comfortable both behind the scenes and in hands-on roles. Remote work is possible part-time.

Qualifications

• Current UVA undergraduate in good standing (3rd or 4th year) or UVA graduate student.
• Experience planning and implementing complex programs.
• Experience with adolescents in academic or extracurricular settings.
• Excellent written and oral communication and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Teams; Canvas is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review student applications and assist admissions decisions.
• Manage program communications with prospective students and parents.
• Facilitate webinars and virtual meetings prior to program.
• Draft, edit, and assemble program documents and publications.
• Create and edit program marketing materials and social posts.
• Plan and provide training for RCAs and serve as point of contact.
• Plan and execute arrival-weekend team-building activities.
• Manage roommate assignments and student groups.
• Supervise excursions and weekly workshops; support weekend trips.
• Assist with tabling events and other Summer Session activities.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
