MasTec Professional Services seeks a Power Distribution Engineer/Senior Designer to work on electric utility distribution projects, performing field surveys, documentation, and design QA/QC under supervision of an Area/Program Manager.

Position may be hybrid; local residents of Richmond, VA are encouraged to apply. The role requires 5–10 years in power distribution and strong knowledge of design standards and utility design practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience with electrical distribution design.
• 5–10 years of experience in the Power Distribution industry.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for up to past 5 years.
• Familiarity with NEC/NESC preferred.
• QA/QC experience of other designers and engineering work.
• Strong technical knowledge of distribution power and design.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver cost-effective infrastructure solutions.
• Coordinate design/review of distribution projects for a utility, including BOM, clearance requests, permits, and equipment/labor units.
• Perform field inspections and evaluations of distribution electrical systems.
• Produce detailed design documentation including system, line layout/routing, and distribution details.
• Contribute to design modifications to improve quality and processes.
• Apply design standards to underground and aerial pole lines including replacement, primary service, and maintenance.
