Job summary

Actalent is seeking an entry-level Distribution Design Engineer I to plan, engineer, and design electric distribution systems for residential and commercial customers. The role supports safe, reliable power delivery and involves field and office work with hybrid scheduling in Bradley, MI area.

You will work under experienced engineers, perform design calculations, and use AutoCAD or MicroStation to prepare drawings and documentation, with strong growth potential in a large power engineering

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or closely related field with exposure to power distribution design.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience with electric utilities or consulting a plus.
• Experience using CAD tools for engineering design (AutoCAD and MicroStation).
• Foundational knowledge of power distribution and design principles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, engineer, and design electric distribution systems for residential and commercial customers.
• Determine need, size, location, and timing of power delivery infrastructure with constraints.
• Develop work packages for overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Perform field engineering to gather requirements and verify conditions.
• Conduct design calculations using established codes and procedures.
• Use CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation) to create and update drawings and documents.
• Support post-construction reviews to ensure designs meet requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve design issues.
