Job summary

Electric Power Engineers in Austin, TX seeks a Distribution Design Engineer to develop residential and commercial distribution designs, including single- and three-phase systems, overhead/underground distribution, and transformer placement. The role involves reviewing customer prints, coordinating PE sealing, and guiding design reviews with distribution leads.

Responsibilities span the project lifecycle: material processing, invoicing, easements, permitting, and final release to construction,

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required;Electrical preferred or Mechanical acceptable.
• Experience with electrical power calculations and utility design standards.
• Familiarity with NESC/NEC and utility design practices.
• CAD experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation;ArcGIS or AUD/AutoCAD familiarity.
• Ability to travel to client sites and work hybrid/remote as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create distribution design sketches per client guidelines and standards.
• Review, stamp, and approve distribution designs and drawings.
• Specify materials and perform cost estimates for clients.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and maintain project docs and schedules.
• Perform field inspections and gather data for design; ensure safety procedures.
