Job summary

Legence is seeking a Plumbing Engineering Intern in Los Angeles to support engineers with plumbing design tasks and the development of technical drawings. You will gain hands-on experience in both office and field settings while contributing to active client projects.

As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers, learn the applicable building and plumbing codes, and assist with field surveys and inspections.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Junior standing preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, and/or Revit.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with plumbing design tasks for building projects.
• Support the development and modification of engineering drawings.
• Assist with the design and layout of plumbing systems.
• Attend and assist with field surveys and construction inspections.
• Assist with the review of contractor shop drawings.
• Develop an understanding of plumbing systems and their application within building projects.
• Gain familiarity with applicable building and plumbing codes and standards.
• Conduct research and analysis to support project development.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and assist with reports and project updates.
• Collaborate with engineers and other project team members to support project goals and deadlines.
• Participate in training and learning opportunities to develop technical and professional skills.
