Job summary

Legence in Long Beach, CA offers a Summer Internship for Mechanical/Plumbing Engineering students. Interns join the Plumbing Design Studio for hands-on office and field exposure, with real client project involvement.

The program lasts 10–12 weeks, starting in June, with in-office schedule M-F. Interns gain mentorship, site visits, and ongoing training, contributing to design, prototyping, testing, and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical or Plumbing Engineering.
• Training in Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
• FE/EIT is a plus.
• Trained to utilize CAD/BIM standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic and multiple-engagement environment; teamwork, initiative, adaptability; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering team in the execution of ongoing projects.
• Conduct research and analysis to contribute to project development.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.
• Contribute to design by creating and modifying engineering drawings.
• Participate in prototyping activities to test and validate design concepts.
• Assist in testing to ensure functionality and reliability of solutions.
• Maintain project documentation and generate reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in meetings.
• Engage in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.
