Job summary

Jobot is seeking a hands-on Plant Controller to join our Temple, TX operations, reporting to site leadership and overseeing two small production sites.

You'll lead financial close, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis, while partnering with operations to drive efficiency and value. Strong cost accounting expertise, GAAP, and ERP experience (Oracle/SAP) are essential; hybrid schedule offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Detail-oriented with deadline-driven focus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Advanced Excel and BI reporting proficiency; ERP experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities, journal entries, and variance analysis. Prepare and interpret operational P&Ls, balance sheets, and management reports to help drive informed decisions.
• Develop annual plans and quarterly forecasts across production, labor, overhead, capital spend, and inventory metrics. Track and communicate variances to targets and prior periods.
• Reconcile key accounts and ensure accuracy of inventory, reserves, accruals, and prepaids.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, identify performance gaps, and lead standard cost updates and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Evaluate and track capital investments, partnering with plant and corporate leaders to optimize returns.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to GAAP and company policy, with emphasis on inventory management and financial integrity.
• Serve as point of contact for both internal and external audits, providing timely documentation and analysis.
• Streamline reporting, automate workflows, and enhance financial visibility through better systems and data management.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and IT to support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
