Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineer to join our Building Mechanical team. The role focuses on state-of-the-art industrial facilities, coordinating piping design across disciplines, and delivering technically challenging projects.

You will lead piping tasks, perform sizing and P&ID work, and collaborate with offices and clients while traveling as needed. This role offers hybrid work from Jacobs locations in the US.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of piping design experience for industrial/commercial facilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Field/site visits may be required; climbing ladders may be necessary.
• Travel estimated around 10%.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-discipline teams remotely.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping discipline scope and schedule within a project.
• Perform piping systems concept development and sizing calculations.
• Create P&IDs and Block Flow Diagrams.
• Perform equipment selections and write system specifications.
• Coordinate with design team, contractors, and clients.
• Conduct static pipe stress analysis and QA reviews.
• Mentor junior staff and lead design reviews.
• Support multiple offices and travel as needed.
