Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a senior Piping Designer for our Building Mechanical team in Pittsburgh, PA. You will design and coordinate piping systems for state‑of‑the‑art industrial facilities, lead a design team, perform stress analyses, and collaborate across disciplines on projects that drive client success.

The role emphasizes field visits, adherence to codes, and a hybrid work model with 40% office/site time. A PE license and 8+ years in piping design are preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in piping design for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Strong written and verbal skill set.
• Ability to perform field/site visits which may include the need to climb ladders.
• Adaptability to work within a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team on a project and to collaborate with other discipline team members remotely.

Responsibilities

• Generate piping design calculations including equipment sizing and pipe sizing calculations.
• Create P&ID’s and Block Flow Diagrams.
• Perform equipment selections.
• Generate specifications for systems and equipment.
• Coordinate with project team members, contractors, clients and other disciplines to develop designs.
• Perform static pipe stress analysis.
• Check drawings developed by project team members.
• Lead a design team within the piping discipline and manage scope, schedule and budget.
