Qualifications

• Two years of college in civil engineering technology or related field plus five years of engineering experience; or seven years of engineering experience.
• Ability to read construction documents and construction plans.
• Strong judgment and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and GIS programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews utility permit applications submitted by utility companies, other governmental agencies, and individuals.
• Ensures permits and resulting work comply with departmental and district policies.
• Ensures local agency agreements are properly researched, prepared and coordinated within laws and letting schedules.
• Provides direction and explanation to concerned entities regarding permits and local agency agreements.
• Maintains current and accurate files on permits and agreements.
• Performs duties in compliance with safety rules and fair treatment of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Two years college in civil engineering technology

Two years college in pre-engineering/engineering technology or construction management
