Job summary

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required or IL Engineer Intern Certificate or IL Professional Engineer License.
• At least 37 months of civil engineering experience.
• Valid driver's license and willingness for district-wide travel.
• Working knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to supervise and inspect contractor work on major projects.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in the design and operation of traffic signal systems, highway lighting, and ITS.
• Develop timing plans for signals and review consultant work.
• Coordinate with railroads and local governments to ensure safe operations.
