Job summary

ESHYFT is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large multi-state healthcare workforce. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role serves as a key operational partner responsible for payroll administration, payroll support, timekeeping audits, payroll reporting, payroll analytics, payroll reconciliations, payroll issue resolution, and payroll continuity.

This is a hybrid position with 1 day per week remote and 4 days per week in-office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience.
• Experience supporting high-volume, multi-state payroll environments.
• Experience supporting W-2 and/or 1099 payroll populations.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, wage/hour requirements, garnishments and compliance.
• Experience reviewing and auditing timecards and payroll data.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll operations across large-volume W-2 and 1099 healthcare workforces.
• Review, audit, and validate employee hours, timecards, shift differentials, payroll adjustments, deductions and data.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, corrections, missing hours, direct deposit issues and payroll tax inquiries.
• Serve as a primary contact for nurse payroll support and payroll-related issue resolution.
• Review payroll registers, funding reports, tax reports, exception reports, and payroll audit reports for accuracy.
• Prepare payroll reporting, workforce reporting, overtime analytics, ad hoc reporting, and data analyses to support decision-making.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, liability analysis, GL balancing, and month-end support activities.
• Support payroll tax administration in partnership with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate payroll vendor support requests, issue tracking, escalations, and projects.
• Support payroll system evaluations, implementations, migrations, and testing.
• Develop proficiency across all payroll processes and serve as backup to Payroll Manager.
