Job summary

The Academies of Math and Science is seeking a Payroll Administrator to support payroll across a growing charter school network. This hybrid role focuses on accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and responsive employee support across Arizona locations.

Ideal candidates bring 4–6 years in high-volume payroll, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Workday. The position emphasizes confidentiality, teamwork, and process improvements within a shared services framework.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Admin, HR, Finance, or related field; Bachelor's preferred.
• 4–6 years of progressive payroll experience required.
• Experience in high-volume, multi-state payroll processing.
• Experience with Workday Payroll and reporting tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll using Workday Payroll.
• Review and approve self-service payroll changes in Workday.
• Validate hours and payroll data via timekeeping systems.
• Handle stipends, bonuses, and ad hoc payments.
• Prepare and process manual payroll checks when needed.
• Monitor payroll transactions for accuracy and compliance.
• Complete payroll reconciliations and balance reports.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies and issues.
• Generate payroll reports and audits for stakeholders.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities and tax reporting.
